The family office of the Burnham Group has its origins in the private office established by Alfred Nicholas, one of the two Nicholas brothers who made the analgesic Aspro a household name worldwide.
Since Alfred’s death in 1937, the Pierce and Armstrong families’ descendants of Alfred, have developed Burnham into an investment group with a wide range of interests including primary production, property, fixed interest and equities both listed and private. Philanthropy plays a significant part in guiding the family’s activities as it did in Alfred’s day.
The group takes its name from Alfred’s family home, “Burnham Beeches” within the Dandenong Ranges at Sherbrooke, in Victoria Australia.
